The Instagram app for Apple Watch will no longer be available
After Twitter, Amazon or Google Maps, Instagram has also decided to set the record straight with the Apple Watch.
Did you like to see a photo posted by one of your contacts on a 1.65 inch screen?
No, of course. At a time when the screens of our smartphones gravitate around 5 inches (12.7 cm), the interest of turning his wrist and squinting his eyes was gradually finding its limits.
You will not be surprised to learn that Instagram has decided to leave the Apple Watch environment altogether .
In a statement sent to our fellow iPhone Addict, Instagram says:
“The Instagram app for Apple Watch will no longer be available as a stand-alone experience once users upgrade to Instagram version 39 on iOS, released April 2, 2018.
We are committed to to provide users with the best possible experience with their Apple products, and we will continue to explore ways to achieve this across all platforms.
“Apple Watch users will continue to benefit from a great Instagram experience through a variety of rich and varied notifications. “
Specifically, when you update the Instagram app on your iPhone, the famous version 39, it will disappear immediately from your Apple Watch since Facebook’s photo app will not use the watchOS 2 or later SDK (software development kit) needed for its operation on the Apple Watch OS.
Like Amazon, Google Maps, eBay or Twitter, Instagram leaves the connected watch Apple . A real blow for the Cupertino company, more in terms of images than pure high-tech functionality. Let’s hope, for Apple, that the Series 4 version planned in September will again mobilize the forces of the web.
